It has been COLD in Denver lately. The cold always makes me want to crochet and drink eggnog and play video games and generally veg out.
No soap post today but here are a few other things that have been going on.
Ok, is anyone in the market for a salt bar? Yes? I bought one from Tree Fort Naturals after I made my own salt bar (impatient) and it is amazing. I highly recommend this bar of soap and this shop! I even asked the semi bratty question of "how long are these cured for?" and got a very pleasant answer back (8 weeks) and a free sample of their other salt bar scent!
I finished this crochet project (which turned out way better than I originally hoped due to a last minute stroke of inspiration). It's a cat bed! My cat Minnow loves sitting in the window (what cat doesn't) but it gets really cold there in the winter. Last winter I bought her a kitty heating pad but she didn't like the microfiber outer shell it came with. I slipped it in the folds of a blanket but it was sort of ugly. It's in plain view right on the couch back so I wanted something pretty that she would also like. It buttons on the bottom to remove the heating pad so I can wash the bed if need be.
I started a blanket project for my brother and his girlfriend off this pattern from Sweet Crocheterie, using the Paton yarn she suggests in "Sachet". This yarn is quite fine and the mohair sticks together. Meaning it's hard to unravel when you make a mistake and the yarn snaps -picture me throwing a rosette across the room- but it sure is pretty. These rosettes are about 2" so I told my brother to expect this blanket winter of 2014/2015 haha!
Stay tuned tomorrow for the column pour reveal! Stay warm!
