White Chicken Lasagna (or Don't Forget the Flour)

When making a beautiful lasagna inspired by this Allrecipes recipe, don't forget to make a roux with the milk. Definitely don't just pour a cup and a half of milk into the baking dish. Certainly don't be confused and at a loss at what went wrong for DAYS afterwards. Until a little light bulb shows up and you suddenly remember you don't remember any flour being used.
Follow that? Yeah I made an interpretation of this lasagna and weirdly just didn't do the crucial step of making a roux. I used leeks and shallots instead of onions and garlic, and added baby portobello mushrooms and fresh herbs. I wilted my own spinach with shallots and leeks, chopped up fresh mozzarella in my food processor and used leftover roasted lemon chicken I made. It should have been lovely. Except it wasn't.
I am not including a recipe because I haven't tried this again to say if it's worth relating. But here are some pretty pictures I took while making it!
