"Infusing liquor isn't rocket science"- The Internet. However, some things work way better than others. Hot peppers always work for me. Yet I've had very little success infusing liquor with herbs or flowers. It it all ends up tasting like yucky plant matter instead of aromatic awesomeness that I expect. Ahh well... Can't win em' all. But a spicy kick in an otherwise classic margarita, heck yeah. I used reposado because that is what I like. Use the tequila you like.
I just did a small amount of tequila since I don't drink it super often, and I wouldn't want it to go bad. I'm not sure how long this lasts, but I would guess- until it tastes different haha. You could keep it in the fridge to extend life if you're concerned, I did! I let the jalapenos soak in the tequila for about 24 hours. It doesn't take peppers long to infuse. This will not only be great in a margarita, but a bloody maria!
