Dirty Harry

"You've gotta ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?". I haven't actually seen Dirty Harry, and only know this famous line. But it doesn't really have that much to do with this cocktail, promise. This recipe and name come from the very fun cocktail book 'Gone with the Gin: Cocktails with a Hollywood Twist'.
Nate got me that and 'Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with a Literary Twist' last Christmas. Let me tell ya, there are some serious gems in these. The Dirty Harry drink is the one I drink most often. Along with the world not having enough meat snacks (a common complaint...) there aren't enough salty/savory drinks! So those of you who cheer in agreement, this one is for you.

DIRTY HARRY COCKTAIL

3oz Dry Gin
1oz Pickle Juice
1/4oz Dry Vermouth

Beefeater is our gold standard. I have yet to find a gin as dry. Annnnddd, if you are having a savory cocktail, dry is best. Dolin vermouth is our favorite. We keep it in the fridge to maintain freshness, remember it is just wine. I have a strong preference for refrigerator pickles, but whatever pickles you like- use them. If 3oz is too intimidating for you (I totally understand), I would half the recipe.

Shake it all up until frosty and serve. Garnish with a pickle slice if you are feeling fancy. Because pickles are the EPITOME of fancy...

Mmm frosty ice chips.
