Grasshopper


Grasshopper! The perfect Halloween treat. It tastes like a thin mint and looks like witch’s brew. This is a drink popular in the 50’s and 60’s as an after dinner drink. Which makes a lot of sense to me, as it’s more dessert than cocktail. Or like a cross between.
I associate this cocktail with winter time. Probably because the first time I ever had it was at a Christmas party. It’s very rich and sweet and perfect for after dinner. Like any drink that calls for cream, use cream. I can compromise on half and half, but not milk. It won’t be the same. I have brown crème de cacao but you are supposed to use white. It will be much more electric green if you use white crème de cacao!

GRASSHOPPER

1 oz Crème de menthe
1 oz Crème de cacao
1 oz Heavy cream

Pour everything into a shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

Reminds me of the green wicked witch.

Nice foamy, icy top, mmm.
