Now that I am addicted to salt bars (using opposed to making) I made a second batch! My crazy big order arrived from Bramble Berry and included some extra fine pink Himalayan sea salts I ordered along with the several essential oils!
I attempted my first essential oil blend of lemongrass, litsea and eucalyptus. I used toothpicks dipped in the oils to compare and combine scents. I liked how green and sweet and fresh this combo came out. I did learn that litsea is very powerful though.

I wanted the sea salt very very fine so I ground it using a mortar and pestle. It worked a little! I added kaolin because I like it, and a touch of rhassoul clay to add a little more color.

I actually missed my crazy fragrance oil from last time. This took a long time to bring to a medium trace.

The salt and clay didn't add much pink color to the soap, but rather a warm light tan. I'm ok with it.

I didn't bother flattening the tops on these. I used the same recipe as the last salt bar batch, so I knew it would make about 6 bars. I tried to distribute more evenly. I also poured at a slightly thinner trace (I got impatient) so there are no air bubbles in these! They smell so good, I can't wait until they are ready.
