(Say that five times fast)
Ok, I've thought it through.
I have a couple of one pound silicone molds that seem perfect for testing the 1oz fragrances (they are!) However it would use up the whole bottle. I'd like to perform a consistent study and have some of the fragrance left over for some wild cards if I desired. Shampoo bars, salt soap bars, etc. I want to stretch these as far as they will go.

So I picked up these cute little boxes at the Container Store. They will hold about 10.5oz of soap and make three smaller bars or two big ones. That will amount to only 16-24 bars of soap in the end. Amount of soap is a real factor for me, since I have limited space to store these soaps for curing!
A few other CP factors I toyed with:
Kaolin? Milk? I decided yes on kaolin no on milk. My reasoning behind it is that Bramble Berry has already tested these in CP and know how they will behave. We panelists are supposed to throw in variables, introduce these to our own recipes/methods and see how they fair in those situations. I always use kaolin. Though I have been doing milk in all of my recent soaps, for simplicity sake I'm going to use distilled water. I will keep these variables constant through all eight scents, same amount and kind of each.
Same recipe in all?
That brings us to this. I will be using the same recipe for all.
38% Olive Oil
28% Palm Oil
12% Coconut Oil
12% Babassu Oil
10% Shea Butter
at 10% Superfat
To color and design?
Yes, sort of. I think things like peacock swirl top, mica vein, layers, can all be done with one part of the design uncolored. Keeps a control area of the bar and adds a little fun (for me) to do something pretty.
Eh? Eh? Thorough enough? Still reading? You crazy...
