Baked Cinnamon Butter Apples

These cinnamon butter apples make a great warm dessert with very little effort! So little in fact that you can make them for just two people after dinner on a cold fall night. I'm usually ready to get out of the kitchen when I've finished cleaning up after dinner and not start the mess again for a dessert. These won't ruin your just cleaned kitchen with lots of mixing bowls. I made these for Nate and I with just one green Granny Smith apple. These apples are the best pie apples and they held their shape and flavor just as well (unsurprisingly) in this application. You could easily double or triple this recipe to feed a dinner party.

All the ingredients gathered.

I took a slice off the back of the apple to keep it from tipping about in the pan.

I carved the core out of the apple with a metal spoon. It wasn't perfect and it doesn't have to be.

Ready for the oven.

Out of the oven after 45 minutes. I popped these each in a ramekin while they were still hot.

And topped with ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon!
