Do you ever get to a point with your skin where it feels like nothing you do is making any difference? I have such dry facial skin and it gets bumpy and itchy in the winter. I use a humidifier during the night, slather on a thick face cream and try to only wash it with a cleanser once a day (the other time I wash with water). Yet this is not enough.
One night in desperation I broke into my ingredients closet and added a few drops of straight glycerin to my moisturizer. Glycerin is an awesome humectant, affordable and sticky as hell. The sticky-icky factor can keep me from using it sometimes. But that night I didn't care one tick as long as it helped. Woke up with smoother glowy skin. Weeee! Success!
After that, it was my mission to make some really pumped up glycerin products to get me through the last icy cold gasp of winter (we're in a serious snow stretch here in CO). So follow along next week with another three part product series. I'll be making a "Little Bubbles" low lather facial wash, an "All Good Things" night time facial serum, and a "Moisture Wrap" body lotion.
