So spring 2015 I was let go from my job. (That sounds much more dramatic than it was by the way). I knew it was coming and everyone was in the same boat because the company was purchased/merged with another company. The main office was out of state, so anyone who didn’t want to leave town was laid off. We were, however, because of the circumstances of the purchase/merger, awarded severance pay. This allowed me to take the summer off for the first (and probably last…) time since high school (I worked through college).
I was crazy productive around the house. Finally getting on tasks I had pushed to the bottom of my to do list. It was very satisfying. I also had a ton of time to slack off, get tan and watch all the Buffy episodes and spin offs. Then came fall. I was officially tapped out. Seriously there was almost nothing on my to do list and what was there wasn’t fun or important. So I thought that signaled the time to get a new job. It’s been about five weeks in now and finally I feel my creativity creeping back (probably helps I don’t have to build the blog back from scratch…*)
So yeah, I snubbed you guys on all my summer projects. Which would have been the perfect time to go blog crazy. Isn’t that weird? It’s almost like work is reverse psychology-ing me into wanting to share again.
Also, totally an excuse, kittens make it very hard to use the laptop. For real, why isn’t there a quick “kitten lock” button you could press to disable your key board? Or a clear shield that you could pull over the keyboard- piano style? #Catpeopleproblems.
*I don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but Blogger stores all of your blog photos on your Google+ account. So If you were to, say, DELETE all of those photos they would tragically vanish from your blog leaving sad grey icons in their places. BUT if you go to your trash and restore all of the photos they will magically reappear as though nothing has happened.
