Classic Champagne Cocktail

I remember years ago watching An Affair to Remember. Deborah Kerr orders a champagne cocktail with pink champagne (*swoon*). It sounded so pretty and romantic, just like the movie. This is a great cocktail to serve on New Years Eve to add a bit of glamour without much fuss.
You can use pink champagne (Rose) or anything else you are partial to. I wouldn’t use anything too top shelf since you are adding other strong flavors. Besides the champagne all you need are angostura bitters, sugar cubes and lemon twist for garnish.

CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL

1 Sugar cube
2-3 dashes Angostora bitters
3-5 oz Chilled champagne
Lemon twist

Pop one sugar cube in the bottom of a champagne flute.

Add a few dashes of bitters until the cube is saturated, usually 2-3.

Slowly top with champagne. If you rush it, it will overflow!

Then add your twist! I like to run the twist around the rim of the glass to add more lemon aroma while drinking.

I used a channel knife to make a long decorative twist. A vegetable peeler works really well to make a more classic twist. And that’s all folks! Cheers and enjoy!
